Monique Barber, MS, LPC, NCC, BC-TMH

Counselor and Business Development

I believe every person can achieve change and growth. I feel privileged to bear witness to the journey clients choose to make in search of healing. I use an approach that focuses on the present moment, motivational interviewing, and client strengths to help them move toward balance.

Monique is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Idaho, a National Board-Certified Counselor, and a Board-Certified TeleMental Health Provider.  At the client’s request, she can integrate expressive arts, including poetry and drama, and spirituality into sessions. As a professional counselor, Monique has experience with most mental health disorders, including anxiety and depression. Other areas that she has additional training include addictions, premarital counseling, couple/marriage, and family counseling, and supporting the mental health needs of caregivers.

Monique is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at Liberty University. She is the Past President of the Idaho Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling, a division of the Idaho Counseling Association. She graduated from the Marriage and Family Counseling program with an addictions emphasis at Northwest Nazarene University. In 2018, she served as an NBCC Addictions Counseling Minority Fellow, in which she researched the strengths of young, minority couples in recovery.
